world. Only people who have spent New Years Eve
in Rio can understand why this is one of the biggest
events in the city. I have spent the last 10 New
Years Eve's in Rio.
Nowhere else in the world could you see 2-3 million
people dressed in all-white clothes, looking great,
gathered in a setting as breathtaking as Copacabana
Beach honoring the departing year and greeting the
twelve months that lie ahead in total harmony, peace
and safety. It is an amazing site.
The summer sky is the backdrop to one of the world's
most spectacular fireworks display you will ever
see. It’s fantastic. On the Beach, on the sand,
white-robed believers light thousands of candles
and toss flowers as offerings to Iemanjá, queen
of the waters, all going on to an irresistible Brazilian
beat.
December 31 at midnight on the Copacabana Beach
is a magical moment every year. A thrilling unforgettable
and incomparable night, it truly reflects all the
